DODGE CITY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL DODGE CITY. KANSAS November. lI], 1940 F. B. TOALSON PRINCIPAL Dr. F. C. Allen Kanses University Lawrence, Kansas Dear Dr. Allen; At the end of the Summer Session I spoke to you about a booklet of plays and formations similar to the one that you sent to me two years ago. You thought that there was a possibility of heving to make up some more for the new Freshman Coach and that you could send one to me if I would write for it. If you have an extra one [I shall greatly appreciate having the opportunity to use it. Football prectice has kept me from working with the basketball boys for the most part but I have sandwiched in a few periods of work with the players not out for football. Ail of the tenm will be new pleyers end I have been concerned over en offense for them. Your play close to the sideline has been my standby for severel seasons and it hes worked against any defense but this year I do not have any boy or boys who are good shots from the side. I think thet the solution to my problem is the pivot on the back foot that you use to advantage. Previously I have not used it to any extent but its true velue is now apprecieted and I think it will mean the difference between a consistent loser and a fair bell club. How are your boys shaping up? Is Sanneman proving to be « great help? Don't you think that you will have en outstanding teem without Miller? I would like to see the varsity practice. I imagine that it is a little more encouraging to work with that bunch after looking us over for about two months. ; Will you please send a schedule as I would like to arrange for my boys to see you play in case you mey be in our vicinity. Mey the best of success continue to come your way. Yours sincerely, Kass Rn eh
