Dear Dr. Allen;

Thanks very much for those kind letters of
recommendation. If any of these men have anything
at all, your letters should do some good.

Monday morning I am going to work with the
Coffeyville Journal doing general reporting work, but
of course I will have my eye out for a sports writing
job elsewhere.

For six weeks I am going to take places of
vacationers, then I will take the place of one of the
reporters who is leaving. The first week I am going
to fill in as society editor.
