SMITH-GRIEVES COMPANY, PRINTERS WESTERN ENVELOPE MANUFACTURING COMPANY Seventeenth and Washington Streets — KANSAS CITY, MO. April 2nd, 1940. Dear Phog: I want you to know how very much we appreciate your calling on us to produce the programs for the basket-ball tournament. We turned our plant over to you and hope every- thing we did was entirely satisfactory. You surely had one great tournament, which was evidenced by the sell-out. I certainly did en- joy all the games. Sorry 1 didn’t get to see you - but you were too busy to be bothered. You had a great team and, of course, it was dis- appointing that we couldn't carry off the final honors - looked to me like a situation where we bumped into an outfit that on that night was just red hot. However, we can all be very proud of the Kansas team - and, Phog, that boy of yours is one swell youngster. I know you are very proud of hin. Thanks so much for remembering us, and I do hope sometime when you are down here you will drop in. It's been a long time since we've visited together. I'd like to talk to you about Larry and many things so, some day come in - I'd like the pleasure of taking you to lunch or dinner. Si Ys Dr. Forrest C. Allen, 801 Louisiana, Lawrence, Kansas.
