Dear Mr. Allen,

I got the surprise of my life Saturday when I received
through the mail this magnificent Elgin watch with proper in-
scription attached. I can only say that I have never received
anything in my life that I appreciate more and must say that I
do not quite deserve such a gift. ;

to you because I feel certain that it was largely due to your
