Dear Dr. Allen:

I wrote to Mr. Woodward and Dr. Nelson at Salina about
the Junior High School coaching job. I received two very
nice letters in return and it sure looks encouraging. I am
enclosing the letters they sent me so that you might read
them. I really think I have a fine chance to get the job.

Do you think there is anything I might do now to help
out? I certainly hope I can get the job. I thought I had
better let you know how I stand up there in case there is
anything you can do.

Well, I am still harvesting and I hope to finish this
week. This harvesting is sure making a man of me. I have
been gaining weight like everything.

I had better close now and hope to hear from you in the
near future. I remain as ever==~ —
