Dear Mr. Allen:

As you will remember, Mr. C. G. Mickel intro-
duced us last Monday nite at the commencement
exercises at the DeSoto Rural High School. Let
me Say again how much I enjoyed your address.

I have heard several commencement speeches this
year, and I enjoyed yours most of all..

As to the job that you mentioned, I know of
nothing that I would like better than to work

and go to-school at K. U. I am now employed at
The Jonnson County Democrat, which is owned and
controlled by former Governor George Hodges and
his brother. However, I have applied forza better
position, and from all evidence it. looks as if 1
Will get the job, If So,°I must be ready to Sign
the contract by the fifth of June. For this rea-
son I would like to learn more about the job you.
spoke of before that time. I would be glad to
drive to Lawrence next Tuesday, Friday, or Saturday
--either day that would be convenient for you.
