the two depariments boing separated since my athictic demise last
January 2nd a year agoe

We do not uow have conapulsory gymasiu or physical
education work for the students. Until five years ago we had cone
pulsory requirements for fresimen and sophomores : We then had 120
hours of academic worke We now give a one-how course per semester .
for physical education classes up to a maximum of four hours, The
hours required for graduation now are 124 instead of 120. However,
if @ student dees not desire to take physical educetion work he may
elect academic work in its steade

We have a very splendid intramural seteups Of course,
this is all in the Department of Physical Fducations

Prior to January 2, 1937, I was Director cf the Division
of Physical Education end Intercollegiate Athleticse I now have my
entire tine to spond on plyoisal odusation wor, sal tnofdentally 1
still coach basketball.
