Dear Doe:

Just a word to let you know how much I appreciate
receiving a copy of your book with such a kind remembrance
on the first page. I had planned on purchasing a copy in
the near future, but I am sure this copy will mean more to
me than any that money could buy. The three years that I
spent on the basketball squad at the University will always
stick out in my memories and to read your book will undoubt-
edly bring back others that I have forgotten.

I hope that you will be able to pay the Allen's,
Shaffer's and the rest of Russell a visit sometime before
Mit gets transferred. If you do not get out here before
Mit leaves, I am afraid you will never make it. I am sure
you are anxious to see your new granddaughter. They say
she is a dandy.
