Lindsborg, Kansas, December 14, 1937. OP. FG. ALion; University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas. Dear Doc: ; Was very happy to receive your letter and you know I will get busy and try to get this job. I am writing Ryther and telling him I will ap»reciate anything he can do for me, and asking for any suggestions that he thinks might help me. I will write Tom Sweeney of the Peovles State Bank tomorrow, so you will have time to see him first. I think Justice Walter Thiele would be kind enough to write. I will also write Dr. Anderson. [I believe Dr. Esterly would dao me a good turn so if you suggest, I will write him. #. GC. Quigley once told me he would do all he could for me in writing a recommendation. You will probably see him in the next day or two, and if you think it advisable, let me know and I will write him. I nave asked Gari O. Lincoln, former Bethany coach and now City Clerk, to write me a recommendation, and I am sure he will go tne limit. We played Sterling tonight and got off on the right foot -— 36 to ll — but of course they were not much power. I have a couple of freshman that have possibilities of making fair basketball players. Don't worry about Man ot War not coming in first if I can manaze to start him at the post. Please let me know the references you think will do me the most good. Sincerely youns,
