FRED GORDON, forward. A scrappy junior ball-hawk, Gordon was on
the squad last season but never got into a game. He is a hard worker
and is sure to sce plenty of service this year.

BOB HARRIS, forward. A fiery sophomore red-head, Harris is also
a track man, broad jumping 22 feet consistently. He is a dead shot,
the fastest one oF the forwards and a serapper. Weighs only 155.

DARREL DON CARLOS: forward. Former all-state football and beskct-
ball player from Perry, Don Carlos is another sophomore. He is 6-foot-
Sy iS SONSsienticus and should be plaving a lot of basketball by the

DARRYL “WAGONS, guard. A senior who transferred from Marysville
(Missouri) State Teachers College, “Wagoncr is a good team player. He
played for the Marysville team which went to the National AAU finals
for two scasons. ,

CLAYTON COMT=, guard. <A short, stocky sophomore who shows promisc.
An impressive ball-handler.

BOB HUNT, guard. Former all-state high school center from liarshall-
town. Stands 6- T6Ot- 2 and is a good ball-handler.

ROYAL DUNLAP, forward, This sophomore is not in school this fall
but will be back after Christmas. He was rated one of the two best
freshman forwards last season.

THE BiG SIX CONPERENCS RACE

The Big Six had one of its hottest races in history last winter,
Kansas, though beaten once by Oklahoma, won its seventh uF eae titic.
Oklahoma finished a close second with Missouri, Yebraska, Kansas State
and lowa State trailing far behind in that order.

Kansas State and Nebraska, the only quintets not using more than
half sophomores last scason, are hardest hit by graduation. Kansas is
again favored with 10 lettermen and the greatest freshman team in his-
tory in camp. Oklahoma's sophomore team is back intact with the execp-
tion of Capt. Bill Martin. Missouri and Iowa State may be fighting it
out for third position, although both Kansas State and Nebraska may
come through.
