September 15, 1943 Professor H. B. Hungerford, Department of Entomology, — University of Kansas. Dear Herb: At a meeting Monday night of the Board of Directors of Rotary, held at the home of Solon G. Ayers, U. Floyd Rible and Rob Rankin were added to your committee. oe As club historian we are asking that you confer with Karl Kloog who has a club history~ prepared by J. Frank Jones. It is a rather volumin- ous thing, but since Frank's illness he was not able to keep fp up to the present. I sincerely trust you will be able to get your committee on this very valuable piece of work. With all good wishes, I am Rotarily yours, FPCA:H President. Lawrence, Kansas September 13, 1943 Dr. Forrest C. Allen, President Lawrence Rotary Club Lawrence, Kansas Dear President Phog: You will find submitted herewith a proposed budget for the Lawrence Rotary Club for the coming fiscal year. Most of the credit in the present preparation in this budget is due to the valued suggestions of Treasurer Clif Calvin. At best, like all budgets, it can be used only as a guide in club expenditures. Your committee, however, feels that if it is used in this regard it will be of consider- able help in keeping the Lawrence club on a sound fiscal basis. You will note that the budget is based on a membership of 55 members. Present indications are that the membership will exceed this number which should give some measure of leeway in the budget. You will note that $100.00 was budgeted in the Milk Fund, Nothing was spent from this fund last year because no money was requested from the city schools. But $100.00 was donated from the fund to the Douglas County chapter of the American Red Cross. Your committee felt it wise to retain a semblance of this fund until otherwise directed by the board. Respectfully submitted, Za He Meade, Chairman Walter J. Father O'Me1l wes not altogethor familiar with the other names and the group was so mixed up that I thought we better @all it off at 1:30 instead of running to 1:45, ‘There are | still follows who want to go through with their introductions so if at all possible I think we had better close it up this next week if we can. If you have a program already arranged maybe we could do it between courses, fF course, the courses are rather scanty, but 1% could be arranged. , It really is a good thing ani I think Father O'Neil did a swell job, but frankly he knows very few of the men to oall them by name and it dragged a little, so we oslled it off with his cooperation.
