C. Allen Basketball Coach University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Doctor Allen, Following are the statistics you desired concerning the Kansas State-- Oklahoma game here last night. The average time, by a stop watch, required to bring the ball from out of bounds across the black line was 4.4 seconds. If I remember correctly, this is quite a bit less than the similar figure on our other two home games. The 33 trials last night totaled 145.7 seconds, an average of 4.4. There were 11 held balls at one end circle, six at the other, and one at the center. Total, 18. One goal was scored by the Wildcats after gaining control of a held ball before the Sooners had control. I hope these data may be of some value to you. After the Iowa State game here tomorrow night, I'll mail the statistics for it. If I might editorialize a bit, it seems to me that the abolition of the center jump works a physical handicap that out-balances the speeding up of the game. Tearing from one end of the court to the other like Oklahoma does cannot fail to work hardship on the heart and other organs. We're pulling for your kuxx boys to beat out 0.U. for the title. Yours truly,
