Dear Bill:

I just got a letter from your former coach, David
Shirk, and he tells me that you are interested in coming
to the University of Kansas this fall.

We would be delighted to have you here, but of
cow'se we have no choice in the matter. You will be
sent where you are best qualified to get the training
the Navy requires. The University offers training for
those boys in engineering, — chenistry, pharmcy
and m.thematics.
