July 15th, 1941 Yr. Harold B. Long 401 South Main El Dorado, Kansas Dear Harold: ; I'm glad te acknowledge reosipt ef your good letter of the llth instant. I assure you we were happy to have you and that_you did very excellent work. I'm gied that you feel thet your stay at the oe of Kansas has been worthwhile. I'm happy that Warren Reigel will enroll this fall. I have written to Harold McSpadden and told him we would be gled to give him a job, but of course if “Prosty* wants to make him an offer that would lure him away, that's O.K. by mee I have never been enthusiastic about a boy that would change his Institution for a little better job. I have always found that a man that would sell his - academic birthright for a mess of pottage is short-sighted and is really selling himself short. Why would Harold need a much more lucrative Job than his older brother? ‘They both come from the same family and I see no reason why if a boy is offered a job that helps him through school, that he would have to ge to another school to get a little better job. With all good wishes, I ana, Sincerely yours, _ Director of Physical Education and - REGREA tion -Varsity Basketball and FCAsre
