August 26, 1941 Football Coach University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Vie: i am enclosing a Transeript of Credit here for Kenneth Tipps from Central High Sehool, Oklahoma City. : Kemneth went out to Cklahoma City University for a few weeks last fall, but he left school as soon as football season was over and didn't complete any of his courses there. The feotball coach out there has a record of his scholastic activities and wanted him to pay $70.00 before he would release his transcript. I told him simply to get a transcript from Central High School and he would | get by on that. a We have worked this boy all summer and he has made an outstanding success in the work we have placed him in. I believe, in school, you will find him a very valuable basketball player and would probably work into an end om your football squed. He had a knee operation several years ago and I suggest you look him over thoroughly as you might want to use him for basketball exclusively. He was an all-state casketball player for Oklahoma. Ue is the boy I wanted Dr. Allen to some down and meet, and. I believe if you will turn him over to Pog when he gets te school that he would be most happy. Ee is keener on basket- ball than football and has a sreat admiration for Fog. He will arrive at school with approximately $100.00 saved from summer work and wil] need a job and guidanse to enable him to stay in school and will also need counsel aa to what studies he should pursue. Please advise me what date school will open and what date he should repert and te whom so that I may give him this information. ? Best regards, Yours truly, ect 3 7 Dr. Forrest C. Allen
