Allen Varsity Basketball Coach University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear "Doc I was glad to receive your letter finding out that you had written to Paul Walker. I will certainly do my best in gettinghim up for the Relays. I'll see to it that the boys out at the A.T.O. house take care of him over the week-end, so he will not have any expense there. You probably want to know a little more about hin, He is probably one of the finest athletes to graduate from North High. Paul is not only an athlete, but a darn good student in school. By the looks of his grades, he will make the National Honor Society. Has parents are swell, lin, Walker is a K.U. graduate, an old baseball player. Paul is 6'2" tall and weighs about 185 lbs. He is the hardest working boy I ever hope to have the pleasure to work with. He made the end position on the All State Football team that was selected by the Topeka Capitol. In basketball I played him at a guard position. ffe was a mid-semester student, so I lost him at the end of the first term, He is now taking some post graduate work, and helping me out with my second team, You see Paul had only played two games of basketball before he entered high school. Through his hard work aad determination, he has become a darn good ball player. He still lacks the ability of being able to relax out there on the floor, but he was rapidly over coming his tensenesess, I certainly wish I could have had him for another year. You see he is only 17 years old. "Doc" I think in another years time he will develop into a swell ball player,
