I keep up insurance for us and also accident insurance. Have had
at least, 50 calls for nursing since I took possession here 34
years ago. <three just recently, Gorrill, the lawyer, Lupton‘s
and another. I cennot accept any of these for I cannot leave the
80 year old Uncle of Prof Basye's. Dad is a jewel, doing so fine,
his check is cashed by me and I handle all of the money. They
seem to like him so very much at the Library, and guess what?
He gets three weeks vacation this year, with pay. Isn's that
grand? We are so grateful. He got we year but spent every
day of it painting and fixing up the house. This year, I had to
see that he got away, at least , part of these three weeks. You
know that is what happened in St. Lovis. Working too hard and not
enough recreation. A neighor was going to Oklahoma City, so I had
him take Dad, paying our share of the expenses, so he can get to
see Al. and find out just what is the trouble down there, why
they can't even pay the interest, and why, he cannot even write
to you. Hewon '+ write to us. So, now we will see, just what the,
matter may bee We have such nice times with the fecal dinners,
farewell parties,& and I have the different young ladies here to
dinner on Sunday and Mr W and I take them to Church and Ed takes them
to the show and back for Sunday Tea, so I know they have had a
pleasant and inexpensive day, and I cannot tell you how grateful we
all of us are for everybody to have been so kind and given us this
opportunity, and we all just dearly love Lawrence. Fo me, it has been
"A Havens of Rest." So different from the large busy City.‘ I‘tkink
