IB. MeRav ATTORNEY AT LAW MASONIC BUILDING | Dorada, Ransas May il, 1940. Dr. Forrest C. Allen, Director of Physical Education and Recreation, University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansase Dear Mr. Allen: I have your letter of April 23rd, which I have delayed answering until I could acquire a little more definite information. I do not believe there is any chance of getting either Covert or Miller to attend the University. Both have had offers which we simply can not meet. I am not sure about Bob Kent. He might make the football team, but I doubt if he is fast enough to make your basketball team. Harold Beal, Captain of this year's basketball team, has been up to see me. He is very much interested in the University, and would like to know what kind of a job he could get. If you have anything available for hin, I shall be glad to have you advise me, but frankly, I doubt if he could make your team. Yours very truly, 3
