Having found out there is such a
thing as victory by that 26 to 19
triumph over Lawrence Saturday
night, the Topeka high Trojans were
getting ready today to go to Osage
City for the regional tournament,
the winner of which will compete
in the state class A tournament]:
here.

Gives Emporia the Title.

The Topeka victory gave Emporia |,
high the championship of the East-
ern Kansas conference, dropping
Lawrence to second place. Topeka
thus won only one contest this year,
but the improvement of the Trojans
makes them dangerous in the re- |.

field goals right after the game
*} started, and Lawrence took time out.
Two free throws made and a field
goal tied the score a short time later,
and the teams were knotted at 7
all at the end of the first quarter.
At the half Lawrence had a 13 to
11 advantage, but at the end of the
third Topeka had forged ahead 19
to 17, and was not headed. Law-
