Dear Coach Allen,

Realizing that at this time you are very busy, I am sorry
to bother you, but in regard to Andrew Goedert of whom I men-
tioned to you in two previous letters, I would appreciate an
answer as soon as possible regarding your plans, if any, con-
cerning him.

I am aware of the fact that you receive many letters from
coaches concerning their "All American“ players, and it would
be unwise and foolish to attempt to enroll all of these boys
at your school; however, I am of the opinion that Goedert would
be a valuable asset.

In my first letter to you I mentioned the fact that he had,
practically singlehanded, taken our team to the state tournament
during his freshman and junior year. Last year we were beaten
in the quarterfinals by Houston who went on to win the State
championship. This year we again represented Southeast Missouri
by virtue of our winning the Regional tournament, and in the
State tournament held at Springfield our team finished in second
place. Going this far and piling up a winning streak of twenty-
four consecutive games couldn't be due to the work of any one
man, but to a well balanced team. However, Goedert is the man
on whom we depended, not only for our points but also for making
the passes that count and riding the fastest offensive player of
the opponents whether he be a forward, guard, or center. In the
seven games in which our teams have participated in State Tourna-
ments, Goedert has been our best scorer in six, and at Spring-
field he shut out one All-State guard and held another All-State
forward to one field goal. During the past year he fouled out
on two occasions.

If you desire any additional information, I will be glad
to furnish it, and if you would like to see the boy I will bring,
or send, him to Lawrence.
