JAMES ROSS, PRES. Q LOY N. ROBERTS, SeEcy. JESSE VAUGHN, TREAS. ' W. R. SEWELL, SUPERINTENDENT : ° a Public Schools ESSEX CONSOLIDATED DISTRICT ESSEX, MISSOURI January 31, 1939 Dear Coach Allen, I have on my basketball team, a senior, Andrew Goedert, who in the estimation of the followers of basketball in Southeast Missouri, is one of the best ever developed in this section. I ean assure you that Goedert is a fine student and will have no scholastic difficulties in college. He is 19 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs around 155 pounds, which is small for most teams, however, his shooting ability from any angle is hard to match. His "fight", mixed with good jumping legs, account for many points batted in on men several inches taller than he. He is an excellent defensive player and can step 100 yards in close to 10 seconds. If you are interested in this boy I would appreciate a reply and, if you wish to check on his ability, I recommend you to any coach or referee in this section. This is his fourth year as a regular on the Essex Hi team. Two of these years, his first and third, he, almost singlehanded, took our team to the State Tourney, and is at present enjoying his best season. Yours truly, Wilson Langley, Coach
