CHEMICAL PRODUCTS, Inc. Chemicals for all purposes PHONE 4-8135 501 W. 1st STREET TULSA, OKLAHOMA January 18, ioS¢c IN REPLY PLEASE REFER TO Dr. Forrest C. Allen Heed Basketball Coach University of Kanses ‘Doar Doe: with reference to our peabencsss iu at the stadium before the Homecoming Game last Fall about one Red Pemberton, I saw Red at the Denver Nugget- Frueheuf Trailer game last night. As you probably know, hea: is only a junior in high school this for I am certain that you are familier with his athletie record. [ He seems to be rather intrested in coming to Kansas, but there is no need to go into that now. However, your friend, Grady Skillern, has another boy, Peawl wooed: who is playing his third and final year. If you are fam with the Skillern coached teams, you are aware of the fact that he turns out very few three-year men. Paul was an All-State player last year, and he shows promise of repeating this year. As the enclosed clipping will indicate, Paul is a slow starter; but, he gathers speed as the season rolls along. He has the sincerity and the competitive spirit. which reminds me to a great extent of Ernie Vanek. Both boys and e#s specially Red are better than the average base ball players. Red is an out fielder while Paul playes first base. Paul has been approached by Henry Iba of Oklahoma State but he is not. very anxious to attend that school. I learned from Red that Paul in- tends to write to you at the close of the cer season. Thus, Doc, to a certain extent, you have the fact about tHe two boys. If it is agreeable with you, I shall approach Paul, and if my finances permit and beringunforseen incidents, I shall make tenitive. i to bring them up for the Kansas Relays this Sprite. |... 2 Yours sincerely,
