Strickland, te wr 7 | Mason City, Iowa ; yf Vy coe yw oe Dear Mr. Strickland: ri’ v eS I am writing you with reference to one Hyle Lownan who is interested in going away to college. He is interested in Kansas University. I feel free in giving this boy one of the best reccomendations that I have ever given an athlete in the thirteen years tha I have been coaching. He is an aggressive, clean living type of boy who has the desire to win. I believe that he would make any football team in the country. My reason for this hie is because he cmdo the things that it takes to be a great player. He is a good blocker, sure tackler, passer, punter and 2 fine ball carrier. He played fullback for me the past two years. He weighs around 170 and will weigh more as he natures a little more. He is also a basketball, baseball md track man. He is at present playing on the town team in base¥all amd is hitting L354. This past spring he hit 452% on the high school ‘team. From a scholastic. standpoint he will never be ineligible for he is a _ good sedenk, The school that gets this boy will probably get his younger brother who is a straight A student and en excellent football player as well. If you have any questions regarding this boy I would be glad to answer them for you at .ny time. Hoping the boy can get lined up at Kansas I remain, Very sincerely irector
