Dear Dr. Allen:

I am writing this letter in the interest of one of
my students here in the Joplin Senior High School who
is very anxious to come to the University of Kansas upon
completion of his high school work this year. I myself
was a student of the University of Kansas and graduated
from there in 1936.

The main reason that I have encouraged this young
man to go to K.U. and his main reason for wanting to
go to K.U. is because of his interest in athletics,
eee ketball. Knowing of the excellent
basketballathat’ young men receive at the University of
Kansas, I can think of no better place for him to go.

I have never been an athlete or, basketball player, |
but it is my candid opinion that this’ young man is ary’ *”
unusually fine prospect for the basketball team at the
University of Kansas. I certainly hope that I will be
able to see him attend K.U.
