Dear Doctor Allen:

On Monday of this week, following
my trip to Lawrence, I received your letter,
It was undoubtedly delayed,

You asked me to let you know whether
John was the boy who had talked to Mr. Smith
about a room. It was he all right, but he has
made no definite plans for staying there. We
will probably be down again shortly after our
final examinations to look for a room. John plans
to spend the summer in Nevada working in a gold
mine,

I am taking advantage of a half-
hour off between jobs to write this letter.
You would have heard from me sooner, but
studies have been greatly increased. And
finals are only a week and a half off,
