Allen, University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas, Dear Phog: In accordance with your suggestion, I am putting in writing my request that you prepare an article on Dr. Naismith for the next basketball Guide. It is fitting that we make this the feature of the. publication, both because of Dr, Naismith's death and also because the 1940-41 season will be the 50th year of basketball although the fiftieth anniversary of the invention of the game comes in January, 1942. May I remind you also to provide us with a recent photo of Dr. Naismith? I wish to thank you personally for all that you did to make our trip to Kansas City enjoyable, The comment of all with whom I talked was favorable and I feel sure that it was the most satisfactory meeting our Committee has ever held. Sincerely yours, Cicetds “ewend
