Personnel Summary, 1940-1941 Season

MENZE, Coach Louis E. -- Graduated from Warrensburg State Teachers
College (Missouri), after playing basketball under Dr. F. C.
Allen, now at University of Kansas. Came to Iowa State College
as Big Six Conference was formed, starting career here with -
1928-1929 season. Previously coached at Central High School,
Kansas City, Mo.

STARTER SUDOLFSON, Albert (Al) -- Junior forward, eo-captain. Quick rather

RE than fast, good passer, good shot. BFarned Iowa All-State
honors two seasons with Rolfe High School.

DENECKERE, Jerome (Jerry) -- Sophomore forward. Slender, better

UKNES, Leon (Uke) -- Sophomore forward. Good prospect, effective
shot at middle distances. Earned numeral in freshman baseball.
Led Missouri Valley Conference in scoring with Central High
Sabocl of Sioux City.

BAXTER, Robert (Bax) -- Sophomore center. First understudy for
veteran Gordon Nicholas, has height. Outstanding high
jumper, earned numeral in freshman track.

One of Big Six Conference scoring leaders through two years,
Cc has effective height and weight.

SIARIER NICHOLAS, Gordon (Nick) -- Senior center, co-captain second season.
