FURNI, SUPERINTENDENT November 20, 1939 Mr. Forrest Allen University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Mr. Allen: Last spring at the Physical Education Convention in Sioux City I chatted with you on basketball at a research meeting. This brief acquaintance made me feel that I know you well enough that I could ask a favor of you, but necessity is the factor that prompts this familiarity. 3 My job at the District Physical Education Convention to be held at Wichita this spring, is to conduct a panel on Men's Physical Education and Athletics. Very few men from this part of the country intend to be in Wichita this spring and in order to conduct a panel intelligently I must contact some men from that part of the country who will no doubt be present. Knowing that you have been at Kansas for a long time, and you have many boys out in the field of physical education who no doubt will be at the convention, I thought you could possibly give me ames to whom I might write asking for some assist- ance in the development of our section. I would appreciate hearing from you at your earliest convenience. If I am ever in a position to reciprocate this favor, I shall be more than happy to do S0-e Sincerely, Gene Aldrich Director of Athletics
