Che Universita of Oklahoma Norman, Oklahoma INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS January 21, 1941 Dre Forrest C. Allen Basketball Coach University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Dre Allen: I have just received your letter concerning Eddie Hogue and I am sorry that I did not get to see you at Kansas State the other night. I got caught in the mob and went on dowm stairs to talk to Quigley and thought possibly you would come down to the dress= ing room. I tried my best to make it to your Missouri game but the snow and ice caught me at Florence where I was forced to spend the night. After the Kansas State game I took the train on up to Ames and got to see his well balanced club in action for the first time. Missouri made a game of it all the way mostly through the jump and long shot variety, and after seeing both clubs I am convinced that I am going to be in for a lot of headaches when I play either of them. Congratulations on your victory last night and even though I was not there I had a mental picture of the way they must have had them stacked in to beat"“old Phog' and to convince the legislators that they are sadly in need of a larger playing field. It is a shame they did not have these politicians out to see our game for I assure you they all went home happy. Let me hear from you as soon as you get a confirmation from a ued SUCCESS. Sincerely yours, Sis heat Bruce Drake Basketball Coach
