Allen Basketball Coach Kansas University Lawrence, Kansas Dear Doctor: I received your letter advising me that you would be in Chicago on the Slst of January. I am very hopeful that you will find it possible to be in Chicago on Thursday, the 29th of January. I finally succeeded in organizing the Chicago Collegiate Basketball Writers' Association. We have had six grand meetings. These meetings take place two days prior to the games scheduled on that particular Saturday night. At these meetings the visiting coaches and the local coaches speak about their basketball team, the indivi- duals composing it, their schools, themselves, and everything they care to discuss regarding basketball. In this way the writers get original material of which they play up in the newspapers for the next two succeed- ing days. So far every coach has cooperated with us and I know that you, above everyone else, are more than anxious to assist in work of this kind. May I then expect a re- turn answer regarding the possibility of your being in Chicago on Thursday, January 29th to attend this luncheon? Incidentally, I have been in close contact with the Kansas Alumni and we are planning quite a celebration for the Kansas game. It should be a grand weekend for you and I am looking forward to renewing our most pleasant acquaintance. : With very best regards, I remain Very si ely yours, AM: GB Graduate Manager of Athletics
