Mr. Arthur B. Morse, Graduate Manager of Athletics, - DePaul University, | 2235 Sheffield Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. — We are writing to the Morrison Hotel, as you suggest, asking for a reservation for our game. We perhaps will come in on the morning of the 30th and be there for a couple of days. I am writing Mr. Rutgzen today, so we should have no difficulty if we act that promptly. We are shooting some action pictures very shortly and we will seo that you get plenty of publicity material. I have just received a letter from William Wendt, the basketball coach et DePaul, asking me to reconsider Pecarero, Smith and MoElliggtt. I told Wendt we did not care te use them and that we wanted Clarno, Enright or Craig. I want you to assure Coach Wendt that we are not unreasonable, but we did not like the officials in the first Loyola game two years ago at all. If we are going to play up there, Art, why do we always have to haggle over officials? i am happy to stay eat the hotel that you people want, but we went officials with whom our boys can play their best game. I trust you will impress this upon Coach Wendt. I am sure thet you can realize that when officials are in the habit of working for coaches because the coach selects them, the officiating is not as good as when the official is on his own. Those are pretty plain words, but I know that you realize I am old enough to note the difference. Very sincerely yours, Director of Physical Education and Recreation, FCA:AH ‘ Varsity Basketball and Baseball Coach. ~
