The nation’s outstanding. bas-
ketball team, if the record means
anything, will represent the
Great Lakes Naval Training Sta-
tion against Kansas Feb. 5 in the
Municipal Auditorium.

Victory over Chicago last
night, 50-27, was the 15th in 17
starts, and the 4th over a Big
Ten opponent. Other victims in-

clude Rewinasetein, Purdue, In-
diana and Notre Dame.

Lee Huber, captain of the 1941
University of Kentucky basketball
squad, and Johnny Adams, for-
ward of the Arkansas Southwest
Conference champions, who were |
in the N.C.A.A. play-off here last |
March, joined the squad -last
night. :

Huber’s performance as guard
won a berth for him on the
Chicago Herald-American’s All-
Star team and recognition as
an All-American. He received his
B.A. degree in the spring of 1941.

When Huber joined the navy
he met another player, Bill
Menke, of the University of In-
diana, with whom he clashed on
the basketball floor last year.
The two met as members of win-
ning teams, but when the bout
between the two aggregations

 

ended, Menke’s team was ahead.
