HE LONGINES OLYMPIC TIMER, official watch for

this event, was created at the invitation of the
Organization Committee as exclusive official watch
for the last scheduled Olympic Games, cancelled at
the outbreak of the war. It is undoubtedly the finest
one-tenth second timing watch ever made, and repre-
sents one of the great achievements of the Longines
factory with a half century of experience in the
manufacture of fine split-second timing watches.

Realizing that the war would probably prevent
the completion of more of these watches, which
take two years to build, all of those made for the
Olympic Games were brought to America so that

they could be used at championship meets by the
official timers.

Today no Longines Timing Watches are avail-
able for sale to civilians, and few conventional

ready to serve peace-loving people . . . and fine
