Mr. Phog allen, c/o Educational Department, Kansas University, Lawrence, Kansas. Dear Phog: On February 2, your team plays Wichita University at the Forum and on that day the K. U. Alumni have arranged with the W. U. Alumni to have a joint luncheon in honor of both basketball teams. We are holding this luncheon at the Allis Hotel at 12:15. We expect around three or four hundred guests, Fred Ellsworth wrote me several days ago saying that he had spoken to you about this, but I thought it best that I write you per- sonally to give you all the details of the meeting. I would like both the A and B squads to attend, and 1 would like very much to have you make a short address to the gathering, 15 or 20 minutes being the time allotted. Will the Athletic Fund pay for the boys! lunches or are we to pay for them? The hotel is charging us 75 cents a plate and any help would be greatly appreciated by our organization. The Kansas Alumni in Wichita number close to nine hundred, and they are mighty active and interested, and believe me, Phog, they are 100% behind you and K, U. and every team that the school puts out no matter how it fairs. Awaiting your immediate reply, I am Sincerely yours (
