Dear Mr. Iba:

Replying to your letter of May 28th, addressed
to Dr. Allen, I wish to advise that after condidering the matter
carefully, I do not believe our Athletic Board would be in favor of
drawing up contracts whichwould eliminate figuring the student tickets
@ .20 each.

I am of the opinion that your student season tickets
are not handled any differently than those at our institution or other
members of the Missouri Valley or Big Six Conferences. In checking the
ticket reports I find that we had a larger student ticket sale at the
game played here March 11th than you show on your report,

It is, of course, quite obvious that you have much
more space to take care of outsiders than we do which prohibits us from
ever being able to pay you any very large proration. I, personally, cannot
quite understand why you are eliminating the student tickets from the pro-
ration when Kansas plays unless you do likewise with the otherteams on your
home schedule which, of course, would eliminate entirely the student tickets
from your reports.

If 4ensas draws a crowd as large as some of your
other games I cannot see any just reason why they should not share in the
proceeds from the game. “uring the past season we played with some schools
that paid us a larger option thah you did and some that came very close to
this amount, but we have hed no requests from them asking that student
tickets be eliminated from the gross receipts.

If the student tickets are eliminated from any contracts
that might be signed in the future, it is quite apparent that we would not
get more than the guarantee and we can get $400.00 guarantees from several
schools that are a shorter distance from Lawrence than Stillwater.

I am sure that our Board would be very happy to continue
on the same basis as in the past, but I do not feel that they would authorize
a contract on any other basis.
