Topeka, Kansas, September 22, 1931. Dr. Forest C. Allen, Director of Athletics, Kansas University, Lawrence, Kansase Dear Doctor Allen: I am wondering whether or not you saw in the Leslie Edmonds colum within the last two days a reference to you ‘being eriticized by the medical profession. This came as a. distinct surprise to me for I had not heard it mentioned by any physician in several years. I believe you will recall that some years ago this question was brought up before the State Medical Society but no progress was made. I am wondering, therefore, if this is just one of his methods of taking an additional "shot" at you, or whether a new ovt- break may likely occur. If you have any information and if you desire me to have it I would be glad to have it. I have as you lmow, occasion to be in various sections of the state and certainly would not hesitate to talk to physicians about the proposition. My in- clination is to believe that Edmonds merely wished to bring up some- thing that practically everyone had forgotten. Please consider this letter confidential.
