Dear Dr. Allen: Our publicity office has gone on vacation since the start of the war. I realize tkat I should kave sent you some material but I have been away since before Xmas and only returned last night. I do not have a regular from last years team but dg have three reserves who lettered. They are: GDale Conner a dr. who lettered at suard. Andy Bertuzzi a Jr. who lettered at guard and Wilbur Humpkries a Soph who lettered at forward. Jim ee a starting forward, F was on the squad the first semester last’ year. All of our men are members of the Naval V-12 unit and all of the remainder of the squad are from out of our normal territory. Raymond Sloan a Sr has played a couple of seasons as reserve center at Emporia State. Haherer has been a starting - forward for us but: could not make the varsity squad at West Texas State. John Clardy lettered as a forward at Abeline Christian College but may not get to make the trip to Lawrence Monday as ke is at the present time on the "Tree".@/Hollis is from some small high school in New Mexico and is a Fr. I may have to take Ralph Earhart from Texas lech who has never played basketball before and Dave Ryan Trom Hardin Simmons but he never played any basketball there. In the three games that we have played we won from tke 800th Regiment from Camp Crowder 44-39 and lost to Arkansas at Fayettevillel2-37 and to the 16th Armoured Division team from Camp Chaffee at Ft. Smith57-46. Our boys have all been kome on vacation and have just returned. We plan to reach Lawrence about four-thirty Monday afternoon, Sincerely yours,
