Dear Dr. Allen: I told you that we would try to meet your team in Lawrence on the date that you want us. We are very happy to accept the date that you have named, Monday, January 3rd. In regard to the amount of the guarantee, I have ckecked connections and find that we can leave here tke morning of the 3rd and reach Lawrence at 11:41 A.M. We will be all of the following day returning. We will want to take ten players, the athletic officer and myself, making twelve in all. . It will cost $150 for the trip. Me : In case you can work a trip to Pittsburg into your sckedule, we will-certainly be very happy. I appreciate your position in the matter and do not want to seem to be putting any undue pressure on you for the game here.
