Dear Phog:

I will try to writerthis letter on an old machine we have altho
IT am none too good with two fingers. I was very glad to get your letter of
November 27th saying that you and the boys could stop toosee us on your
way Baste

Be sure to tome by Michigan Central as your train will then pass ~
within 300 yds of the Ford Willow Run bomber plant just outside of Ypsi-
lanti and within a half mile of the great Ford Rouge plant just outside
the city limits of Detroit. These plants are visible from no other R.R.

Now asxto accomodations. I saw BOb Mosby, who is a- member of the
DeAeCesy at once about the team staying thare. Bob called me the next day to -
say that the DAC could not put the team.up. They are too crowded at the
present time. I was not surprised. The DAC is4 swank business men's club
and at the present time with the magnitude of the war effort here it must
_ be crowded with visiting business gov't and military men.

I next called the hotels. At them you can get any accomodation
you care to pay for. Here is the line up.

BOOK CADILLAC- $ 3.00 per person, two to a room, all on one floor.

STATLER- $ 3.00 single, $ 5.50 double, or can put six in a room with six
cots at $ 2.50 each.

DETROIT LELAND- $ 5.00 double or six in a room with 3 dble beds at $ 13.00
FORT SHELBY- $ 1.75 each, four or five to a room.
TULLER- $ 1.50 each, four to a roome

The Statler and Tuller are side by side and both adjoin Grand Circus
Park. The Detroit Leland and Book are about a block and two blocks away
resoectively. The Fort Shelby. is a half mile away. I mention this because
the down town Y.M.C.A. is just across the park from these hotels, about
two blocks away and there you can get your work out. I saw their Mr. Vail,
director, and he said he would be very glad to have the team work out there
and was going to put me in tomch with their physical director to find what
hours the gym would be open but he was not in. It was yesterday I saw him
and I will get this informahion Monday.
