mee IRISH NINE ROCKEFELLER PLAZA NEW YORK CITY April 7, 1942 Dr. Forrest C. Allen Director of Physical Education University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Doe: I have just received a confirmation from Brigham Young of its negotiation with Long Island which would as I explained in my letter last week closeup the possibility of scheduling your team on Saturday, December 12th. If it was possible to schedule #ordham in the Garden on Saturday night, December 26th, would this make any difference in your plans. You could play this game and return to Lawrence to give you plenty of time for work during the vacation period prior to your conference opening. Naturally, for a single game the quaranteed reimbursement would not be as high as for two or three games, but I am certain that the reimbursement of expenses in the amount of $1250 for the single game here plus your part- icipation would more than cover expenses of the trip. The Saturday night date during the Christmas holiday «period has been the most desireable from a gate standpoint the last few years. Last December we drew over $19,000, after deducting Federal taxes. 1 feel confident that your participation in the game with Fordham on this date would exceed $1250, so that you would get a total of $2500 or more for the single game. Sincerely yours, Director of Basketball NI:FC VWadison Square Garden
