Allen Director of Physical Education University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Doc: Please pardon the delay in answering your letter of September lith. I believe that we are all set now for a Basketball Team as we have eliminated the uncertainty and it now appears as if we are definately set for a Basketball schedule. I sincerely appreciate your including our Team on your schedule, and as much as we are so late in getting started, we will arrange the game with Kansas at a time that will be of the most convenience for youe We are confronted with the sitwation of having no gym- nasium here at Leavenworth, as the gymnasium which we planned on using is now in use for the student Officers in the Command and General Staff Schoole Would it be possible far your team to play us at the High School gymnasium in Leavenworth, the Auditorium in St. Joseph, Missouri, or the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri? I feel that it would be profitable to both Kansas Univer- sity and to ourselves if we could arrange to play our game in either the St. Joseph auditorium or the Kansas City Auditorium. I fully agree with you that both the financial problem and the automobiles will give all the Schools engaged in athletics many additional problems. I will appreciate a reply from you at an early date. With kindest personal regards and best WL I am vw C ted J. os CK van lst ve FoAe Special Services Officer
