NAVAL AVIATION PRE-FLIGHT SCHOOL Iowa City, Iowa May 28, 1942. Dear Phog: Colonel Bierman has asked me to reply to your letter of May 25th concerning a game in Kansas City on January 29th. This date is entirely satisfactory to us and we will put it down in our schedule as a definite date. The financial seule cera which you. suggested, of a $200 guarantee with an option of 50% of the gross receipts (after deducting 50% for auditorium rental and other official expenses) is satisfactory. One thing is certain, Rollie Williams will not be coaching the University of Iowa basketball team. He is at Annapolis now, taking the indoctrination course and will probably be sent here as head basketball coach of the Naval Aviation Pre=Flight School. If Rollie does not head up our basketball, Ed Blickel, who has been Harold Olsen's assistant at Ohio State, will be in charge of our outfit. We are looking forward to a great athletic year. Two hundred forty two cadets came in this morning and by the time of our game with you we should have ap- proximately 1800 fine boys from which to select a team. With kindest peysonal a arry Sng ; aes Commander, USNR, Naval Aviation Pre-Flight School. Mr. Forrest C. Allen, a Basketball Coach, University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas.
