Dear Doctor Allen:

We have been advised by the Military Authorities
that we will not be permitted to have a Basketball Team
as we have planned. The only Team that we will be permitted
to have is one that will play in the Post League, here at
Fort Leavenworth.

This has been quite a blow to us, as we had gone
ahead on quite an extensive schedule and it is now my duty
to inform each and every one of these schools of the change
in plans.

I sincerely appreciate your including us on your
schedule, and it is with deepest regret that we will be unable
to appear in Lawrence.
