THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AUSTIN January 29, 1940 DEPARTMENT OF INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR Mr. Forrest C. Allen, Director Physical Education Department University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Phog: Replying to your letter of January 24, I suggest that you sub- mit several dates that would be acceptable for the two games of basketball in Lawrence. The basketball schedule is made out rather late here. In fact it is not made out until the spring meeting. You can rest assured that we will co-operate with you to the fullest extent as I am very anxious for the contract to be fulfilled. Jack's team is off to a pretty good start but of course there is a lot of swift current ahead. We moved a little in football last fall and, from all indica- tions, I believe we can hold our own and maybe we can advance a little bit in '40, and sometime, and let's hope it will not be too far removed, we can be a real contender. We follow you with a lot of interest. - It is an annual affair for me to congratulate you on your fine team. It looks like you have another one this year, so I want to extend very best wishes. Sincerely yours am Die sv Bible DXB : RH
