this evening we have written to father and the children to Prof Baird and a card to Dr Gowdy. I must retire and rest for my duties this week hope our school will get along nicely hope everything will be pleasant for me. Nov 7th Two more schollars one 20 one 18 Nov 8th three more new schollars Nov 9 cold and rainy we got wet and everything was disagreeable Mr Waterman brought me a pail of water and one of coal Nov 10th snow on the ground and cold our first snow this season Mr W[aterman] took us to school and brought us back Nov 11th Mr W[aterman] brought us from school School spelled down Charles W[aterman]and George Hallett chose both sides went down on the same ward 12th I moped ironed some and finished Mrs As dress Josie spent part of the evening with us Julia was not well but studied some I worked examples in Arithmetic 13th Sunday how I wish I could see father and the children at home it has been very pleasant and sunny today Oh how anxious I am for my children to grow up to be honest and true at all times be true to yourself and you can [PAGE BREAK] wrong no one. 14th School as usual I have nothing particular to note through this week only the teachers were 9unreadable) not to go home sorry they can't go more often 19th Julia went to town got a letter from Harriet 20th Sunday pleasant Bertha took supper with us wrote to father played on the Organ in the evening 21 Bertha went to school today everything agreeable 22 Scholars did well in lessons 23 All things were pleasant 24 Thanksgiving we all should feel thankful for all our blessings Julia and I baked and sewed and did a nice days work as we were not invited out Josie went to Mr Jenkins to see Addie home but she did not come Julia staid with her mamma 25 Lessons well learned school passed off pleasantly 26 we moped and sewed all day and did well Mr Grigsby to supper a line from home to pay $22 for meat 27 Sunday Julia and Grace took supper with Mrs Waterman I wrote to father I was going to iron some needed articles when Mrs W[aterman] said it seemed a common occurrence when I resolved if my example was bad I would try and iron in the morning Dec 18th I have not written for a long time I have been teaching My school is quite
