the horses Julia and I waited for them at Mr. (Cunningham's ?) from 1 until 5 then walked home I then walked two miles and back to look for the horses but did not find them 26 Father and I got the horses and went to Beaurman's herd for her but could not and had to wait another day and felt sad and discouraged. 27 Today is Sunday but we thought best to go and get the cow as we told them to tie her for us at night-we went after her and brought her and picketed her got some seed for chickens from Josephs as we had to have something for them to eat got supper milked and only had about 3 pnts all asleep but me I am blue don't think people ought to work on the Sabbath if they can avoid it God looks at our hearts don't feel I have lived as becometh a Christian today 28 went 3 miles for milk and to the post office got a card from Prindle got no milk. 29 Father and I went after horses found Queens head all swelled up with rattlesnake bite put soda on it and mud but at night it was no better thought she would get better in the night or she would die 30 horse alive but no better kept mud on her Father and Julia got some remedies gunpowder yolk of an egg and salt. Gave her some ammonia. Mrs. Grigsby put some ammonia down her she seems worse July 1 Horse alive but very bad hope and trust she may get better feel very bad Queen is better than she was this morning sucks a little meal and milk and drinking water We all hope she will live.
