I hardly know what to do with myself but will try and do as well as I can and trust the Lord for the rest 12 Grandpa and Collie went to Browns Grove to get trusted for something to eat - got nothing and no mail borrowed 14 � lbs flour and 14 � meal of Mr Quance 13th Fixed the well rope and getting ready to go to Larned. Grandpa went to Mr. Robinsons 11th Grandpa Mamma and Collie started for Larned. Etoile Collie Louis and I staying alone bucket- rope wheel and all fell in the well. I took Princes rope off him and hooked it all out at night. Deaf and Dumb man came and picketed Prince 14th Deaf and Dumb man came and held cow while I milked and tended Prince 15th - Collie and I done chores all alone cow kicked at me five times and I sit down and cried. Grandpa and Grandpa and Grace came home before noon but Mamma stayed at Larned and worked at the Larned House I cried [PAGE BREAK] and cried I hate to have poor little Mamma work out and be domineered around I had a great deal work out myself 16th Drizzling rain and then hard raining this afternoon Today is Sunday wrote to poor little Mamma 14th Collie went to the post office after Grandpa came back from Mrs. Andras and he learned our cow had come in she came in Friday had a little bull calf Collie was out in an awful rain I was awful worried and cried and took on but after the storm he came home safe and sound he was not wet he had staid at Mr. Grigsbys and she had given him mush and milk. He got a letter from Uncle Louis with 2.00 in it and a promise of 150 dollars in 10 days he is coming out here first of September 17th Grandpa Collie and I went after the cow she is just as fat as butter and just as handsome as a picture we took dinner at their house I forgot to write that when Grandpa came home from L[arned] he had 2 sacks of flour 1 sack of meal 25 lb sack of Graham 40 cents sugar
