Kansei-Bunka Periods Zegaibō ekotoba: Nijō Tameshige-bon : Kansei Bunka-goro utsushi 是害坊繪詞: 二條為重本 : 寬政文化頃寫 Buddhist art Buddhist art--Japan Painting, Japanese Scrolls, Japanese Narrative painting, Japanese Tengu Manuscript of reproduction of Zegaibō emaki, originally produced by Nijō Tameshige and with the postscript by Reizei Sachūjō Fujiwara Tamekiyo, dated Kanbun 5-nen (1665). Reproduction was done between 1789-1818. The original is currently held at Sen-oku Hakukokan. This manuscript scroll contains illustrations which tells the story of a Chinese tengu (goblin) who came to Japan and challenged Buddhist saints. He was defeated but treated by other tengu (he enjoyed bathing) and left for China.
