Chancellor Chalmers, Governor Docking, and Colonel Albott Examining Summerfield Hall Destruction After Bombing, 1971 Student activities Student protests Chalmers, Edwin Laurence, 1928-2009 Albott, William Docking, Robert Blackwell, 1925-1983 On December 11, 1970 at 11:00 p.m. a bomb constructed from dynamite exploded in Summerfield Hall destroying an entire wall, metal doors, boxes of papers, etc. Debris from the blast littered Sunnyside Avenue. Though the bombing was invesitgated by the FBI, the case was never solved.
