University of Kansas Student Protests, March 28, 1979 Student activities Student protests March 26, 1979, Begin and Sadat agreed to sign a treaty during the Camp David Accords mediated by Carter. Egypt and Israel agreed to declare peace and end hostilities. Israel was to relinquish control of oil fields in the Sinai while Egypt agreed to end the war.
